What should I do, my mailbox has been damaged by the snow plow?

If a mailbox is placed as far beyond the shoulder of the road as the postal carrier can reach and it is firmly supported, it should have no problem withstanding the weight of the snow as a plow passes.

However, sometimes damage is unavoidable.  If your mailbox is damaged, contact the Public Works Department at 412-795-6800 ext. 4603.

As soon as it is possible, someone from the Public Works Department will replace your mailbox.  Replacement mailboxes consist of a basic wooden post and non-decorative metal mailbox.
